Welcome to Santiago

Hy! I’m going to show you my city, Santiago de Chile. We are going to begin in downtown, the Government House called La Moneda. There is a pretty museum. Then we could lunch in a great restaurant, “Fuente Alemana”, there, they sell the best sandwiches of the country. To go there we have to take the subway up to station Pedro de Valdivia and walk a couple blocks. I recommend to you to ask for a sandwich of “mechada”, ¡is the best!
In the afternoon, we can go to the zoo in the hill San Cristobal. It’s not very pretty but it’s a good walk to happen the day and take beer in Bellavista’s street.

Also, in Bellavista’s neighborhood , you can try a nice restaurant called “Ciudad Vieja” , where you can eat  very tasty Sandwhiches. What makes it special is that it mixes traditional Chilean ingredients with innovating ones. It’s the perfect place to eat something simple but of high quality surrounded by an old style decoration.

Maybe if you don’t feel like eating a Sandwich and you want to go for something else, “El Mesón Nerudiano” happens to be in the same neighborhood, and you will find nice Chilean-mediterranean food and the best national  live jazz and poetry as well.  Remember that Neruda was very important Chilean poet (he won one Nobel price) and this restaurant was called after him.

Finally, if you want to have more choices, in “Patio Bellavista” you can find more restaurants.

After that we can go to dance. The best place in Bellavista is Maestra vida, a place where we can have so much fun and learn few salsa steps. Also we can drink piscola, a tipical and one of most popular drinks in my country.

Now I recomed you to go to bed. It was a tiring day and you must rest. The best opcion is to rent a room at "Rio Amazonas" Hostel. This hostel is located in Brazil´s neighborhood, near to Alameda´s street.
The rooms are not very beautifull, but is the best opcion if you want to stay in the heart of santiago city and have the posibility to go whereever you want.
This is my city y hope you enjoy it.

Uruguay

I have been to Uruguay. I arrived to Buenos Aires, but then I cross in “Buquebus” to Montevideo. That was a very fun experience. During the trip I went to diferents beaches but I haven`t the pleasure to know museums. There I saw blue crabs and was very amazing but very scary too. Me and my friends ate “Chivitos” a very typicall food of that country, it was very delicious.

South of Chile

I have been to south of Chile and in this place I made a BBQ and then I swam in the river.  On my return I cooked a typical dish of south, and then I met very nice people. Finally I have been in the casino and played black jack. I didn`t do very well, but it was a fun experience.

I have been in Guatemala

I have been in Guatemala. I was there in 2001.
There I hiked an active volcano, located in Antigua Guatemala, a little town of sixteenth century. There I also did canopy, but I have never done bungee jump.
Every day I and my family went to different museums where you can find Maya’s legacy and many objects of the colonial era. But the worse thing is that I have never been on Tikal, a national park with Mayan pyramids, like Machu Pichu in Perú.

Things I did and did not

I have been to Mexico in 2006, and there I have launched in bengee. During the travel, I walked a lot, but I haven’t done trekking. When I arrived to Mexico City, it was rush hour so I have never token a taxi Mexican, me and my family moved only by underground. During my last day on Mexico, I have been to the opera, it’s was incredible!

Today in Santiago de Chile

Santiago today is rainy and very cold. It is also a very humid city.  Probably after the rain it will be freezing, and we will all have to turn on the stove. Yesterday it didn’t rain, but it will not stop until tomorrow.

JOURNALISM

I chose Journalism, because it satisfied what I liked, that was investigation and culture. Here I could then develop Chilean music and culture in my research.

But I didn´t like traditional jornalism, because I thougth did not contribute my future as a person. Over time my interest was linked more to the documentary research, always on culture

When I think about my future, I fail to see as a journalim in the a traditional communications media. Probably if I think about my financial future I shall sit in an office. For this reason between studying advertising.

Why i like jounalism?

The first thing I like about journalism was the conection with the people and how they act in different context. I believe that our profession is a bridge between big corporations or powerful people and the community.

In the future I would like to work in mass media, radio or tv but nowadays there are a lot of ONG's that need people that handle communications, and they do a very good job to increase the lifestyle from the people that needs more.

Now I like journalism a lot

I chose to study journalism becausa I like to write. But then I didn´t like this profesion because I feldt that it wasn´t my area. Now I like journalism a lot because I can do a lot of things. I love the radio and write diferent reports. When I leave de university I would like to work in a magazzine or in a company doing strategic communication. In a magazzine because I like to write and it that area you have more time to develop a good report or find a good story. And in a company, because I like to create campaigns to help to improve the image in case of crisis.

Franco the psychopath

Yesterday in the afternoon was found the psychopath of Diego Portales University. He was a fugitive for a year, and couldn’t be found because he was hiding in a mobile home. He bought the mobile home with the money that he stole from his friends.

Franco, the psychopath, is short and fat. He has a mustache and he always wore a dark shirt and a big backpack where he hid the money. Franco used to steal in the class room, while the teacher was explaning the contents of the lesson and his classmates were distracted.

But Franco did’t steal just money, he stole things too, like Ipod’s, mp3, cell phones, notebooks and everything that he saw. After this, he drove to other parts to sell all the things or changed them by cocaine.

When the police caught him, he was drugged and in his backpack he had a lot of things that other students of the university had been looking for. Hewill be processed for robbery, this morning.

The worst Juanita’s day

Yesterday at 6 pm, Juanita Delgado was buying an umbrella, then she left the mall. When she was wailking a man with sunglasses, short hair and dark skin was following her, but Juanita didn’t realize about it. When she got into the car she saw the thief. She took her handbag with all her strength but the thief was stronger than her. The man took her handbag and went away. Juanita shouted with all her voice, but nothing happened.

She waited in her car to cool down, then she called her husband and he told her that she had to go to the police.

The police took her personal information and Juanita left the police station and went to her house. At 8 pm Juanita received a call. A extrange voice told her that her handbag was in a rubbish bin, on the corner of the mall. Juanita and her husband went to the place and recovered the handbag. Then the couple went to bed and felt relieved.
